Resumé and Interview Tips
General Resumé Tips
- Your name, home address and relevant contact information (phone number where you can be reached during the day) should be clearly stated at the top of your resumé
- Pay careful attention to spelling, punctuation, grammar, and style
- Organize information in a logical fashion
- Keep descriptions clear and to the point
- Use a simple, easy-to-read font, such as Arial, Times New Roman, or Verdana
- Tailor your information to the job you're seeking
- Be accurate - if you are selected for a role, the Ontario Energy Board will conduct background reference checks to verify data presented on your resumé
Interview Tips
- Arrive on time, preferably a few minutes early
- Research the Ontario Energy Board and the related business unit
- Know the position's description
- Come prepared to discuss your skills and experience as they relate to the position
- Prepare questions you would like to ask
- Bring to the interview: a copy of your current resumé, samples of your work (if appropriate), your references and a pen to take notes
