CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
Aleck Dadson joined the Ontario Energy Board in December 2007 as Chief Operating Officer after an extensive career in the energy sector in North America and Europe. As of November 2009, Aleck assumed direct responsibility for Regulatory Policy & Compliance. Aleck is a lawyer by training and, until 1997, was a partner at Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt, practising primarily in the area of energy regulation. He has served as Special Counsel to the OEB regarding bulk power rates of the former Ontario Hydro and as a member of the first Technical Panel of the IESO. Aleck is a graduate of Oxford University, University of Toronto Law School and Yale Law School.

APPLICATIONS & REGULATORY AUDIT
Marika Hare was appointed Managing Director of Applications & Regulatory Audit in November 2008. She was previously Managing Director, Regulatory Policy Development. Marika was with Enbridge Gas Distribution (formerly Consumers Gas) where she held a variety of positions during her 15 years with the company, including: Regional General Manager Central Region Operations; Director Regulatory Affairs; Director Business Development; Director Strategic Planning; and Director Environmental Affairs. Prior to Enbridge, Marika was with TransCanada Pipelines where she held increasingly responsible positions in the environmental and right-of-way areas. Marika holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Toronto as well as a master’s degree in Environmental Studies from York University.
LEGAL SERVICES & BOARD SECRETARY
Mary Anne Aldred joined the Ontario Energy Board as General Counsel in November 2006. Prior to joining the Board, Mary Anne was a lawyer and regulatory affairs advisor for over 12 years with Hydro One and the former Ontario Hydro where she held the roles of Assistant General Counsel, Senior Legal Counsel and Director, Transmission Regulation. Mary Anne has provided legal counsel and leadership on a range of issues, including rates and facilities applications made to the OEB and has provided advice on aligning regulatory strategy with business goals, on government relations, administrative law and civil litigation. Mary Anne obtained her Law degree at the University of Western Ontario and was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1986.
COMMUNICATIONS & CONSUMER RELATIONS
Suzanne Cowan joined the Ontario Energy Board as Managing Director of Communications & Consumer Relations in September 2008. Suzanne was formerly the Director, Communications Planning in the Office of the Premier of Ontario. Prior to that, she worked in Ottawa as Director of Communications in the Office of the Minister of State (Public Health), Government Relations & Advocacy Advisor for the Canadian Medical Association, Press Secretary in the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister of Canada, and Press Secretary and Special Assistant in the Office of the Leader of the Government in the Senate. Suzanne has a BA (International Relations) from Mount Allison University (Sackville, New Brunswick) and a Superior Diploma in French Studies from Université Marc Bloch (Strasbourg, France).
PLANNING & BUSINESS SERVICES
Allan Fogwill was appointed Managing Director of Planning & Business Services in November 2008. For the four years prior to this, Allan held the position of Director of Applications overseeing the department responsible for the processing and analysis of all applications submitted to the Board. Prior to joining the Board, Allan spent 10 years with two different gas distributors, Union Gas in Ontario and Centra Gas in British Columbia working on resource planning, business planning and demand side management programs. Allan has also worked for the British Columbia Energy Council, the former energy policy agency of the BC provincial government, and was a consultant to companies and governments on energy demand forecasting matters. Allan has a master's degree in Natural Resource Management with a focus on energy economics.
Julie Mitchell joined the Ontario Energy Board as Managing Director of Human Resources in December 2008. Julie has most recently worked as President of ADM Business Consulting providing HR, Communications and Marketing consulting services. Previously, Julie was Vice President, Corporate Services & Business Development at Plexxus, a not for profit corporation formed by Toronto and GTA hospitals to integrate their back office functions. Prior to joining Plexxus, Julie was with Ontario Power Generation and the former Ontario Hydro in the areas of HR, Finance, Marketing, and Communications. Her last position at OPG was Vice President, HR Strategy & Labour Relations. Julie is a graduate of McMaster University (B.A. Hons.) and is a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) from the University of Toronto, Rotman School of Business.
