Apply for a Licence
Electricity Transmission Licence
Section 57(b) of the Ontario Energy Board Act, 1998 provides that no person is permitted to own or operate a transmission system without a licence.
If you are interested in applying for an electricity transmission licence, refer to the link below and download an application form. A sample licence is available for viewing by clicking the link below. Complete and mail two copies of the application form to the Board, along with any required attachments and a cheque or money order in Canadian funds made payable to the ONTARIO ENERGY BOARD.
The application fee for an electricity transmission licence is $800. The annual registration fee for an electricity transmitter is also $800.
Licensees must comply with the Board's Transmission System Code, Affiliate Relationships Code for Electricity Distributors and Transmitters, and all other conditions set out in their licence.
